I am currently working in collaboration with Florida Organic Growers on a USDA-funded Community Food Planning Project. The aim of this project is to identify food resources, assets and gaps in the local food system here in Gainesville through a community-based planning process. In addition, I am conducting research through the University Scholars Program on the effect of residential location and income and the accessibility, availability and affordability of fresh food in Gainesville, with a focus on the low-income, east side neighborhoods. |
