Description
Alachua County is hosting the Gainesville stop of the Heart of Florida Clean Cities tour which will feature a full size CNG transit bus and a variety of light-duty CNG sedans and trucks. All these vehicles are currently offered for sale in Florida. Information on a variety of commercially available CNG fuelling options ranging from Phill, the home fuelling appliance, to full-size public access CNG stations will also be available. This is part of a regional exploration of a Clean Cities designation for the Alachua County area.
Literature on a variety of other vehicle types, such as waste management trucks and heavy-duty tractors, that are also available for sale and aftermarket conversion from a variety of up-fitters will be available. Finally federal and state incentives for conversion to CNG and other alternative motor fuels will discussed.
Vehicles will be on display at the Downtown Gainesville Bo Didley Community Plaza to make it as easy as possible for interested stakeholders to participate and kick the tires and experience the benefits of these clean, quiet machines.
